WSOP releases Online Series schedule featuring 33 bracelet events

The World Series of Poker is back in action this year, set to offer an Online Series beginning this July. Players can now begin to consider which events to take part in as the WSOP has just released the series schedule. Starting on July 1, there will be 33 bracelet events taking place in one month’s time. Players will literally find one gold bracelet event on the schedule each day.

The action takes place in the United States via the WSOP.com site. Players located in Nevada and New Jersey can take part. In the presser about the schedule, the WSOP left the door open for other states, pending regulatory approval. If the WSOP launches a site in Michigan or Pennsylvania before the WSOP starts, then perhaps players in those states can take part as well.

A Sectioned Approach

For the WSOP, the upcoming series will include plenty of action. Portions of the schedule have been sectioned off in parts and are themed. There are such options as Micro Madness and PLO Week. Each section allows players to compete in certain types of tournament action.

In the Micro Madness week, players will find tournaments have a buy-in of $400 or less. During PLO week, the action includes Omaha events. There will be two pot-limit options and a PLO8 tournament.

To get started, WSOP is offering up Premiere Week. This week will include the first eight events. During this week, players can take part in the $500 Big Kick-Off and a No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack with a $2,000 buy-in.

There is also Double Bracelet Day where the online poker site will offer the largest event in the series, the No Limit Hold’em Lucky 7s High Roller. This tournament has a buy-in of $7,777. There will also be a $500 event that day.

In the final week, players will take part in the Championship section. The schedule includes a $1,000 PLO Championship event and a High Roller Championship, with a whopping $3,200 buy-in. Players can also take part in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship as well as the Grand Finale, which has a buy-in of $500.

Continuing from 2020

The new Online Series is a continuation of the 2020 series which took place in two parts. Players were able to compete for gold bracelets in 2020 online due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The online events were such as success and the pandemic remains an issue, the WSOP decided to continue the tradition of online gaming.

Last year, the WSOP Online Series provided over $26.8 million in prize money. This was the largest amount ever for a US based series. For international players, the WSOP partnered with GGPoker to launch a similar series. The site provided 54 events so players from other countries had the chance to earn WSOP gold as well.
