The World Poker Tour (WPT) is expanding its viewer audience after signing a new distribution agreement with Fubo Sports Network. The WPT tournament action will now be viewable by fans in the United States and Canada thanks to the network’s fuboTV.

WPT Tournament Coverage

Fubo Sports Network is a free-to-consumer television network that offers live streaming of events. The tournaments of the World Poker Tour will now be accessible via fuboTV, making it easy for fans to catch all the action.

The network plans to feature recent events from Barcelona, Las Vegas, Paris, and other areas of the world, with content from more than 10 seasons provided. Archived events from past main stops on the WPT will also be highlighted.

Vice President of WPT Studios, Johnny McMahon, commented on the new agreement by stating: “The rich history of the World Poker Tour is something that we continually strive to share with all poker fans. With Fubo Sports Network, viewers can catch classic WPT action on fuboTV or on the many Fubo Sports Networks distribution partners, including Roku Channels, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio Channels, and more.”

According to WPT CEO Adam Pliska, the brand is excited to open the WPT vault for airing and covering new events from Season XX and beyond. Poker fans will be able to stream footage from past events as well as enjoy the latest action as the new season gets underway.

20th Anniversary Celebration

The new agreement comes at a time when the WPT is celebrating its 20th season. This year kicks off Season XX with players already having access to tournament events. In early January, the brand stopped at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida to host the Lucky Hearts Poker Open. The Main Event of this stop featured $3,500 buy-in and $2,000,000 in guaranteed prize money.

In April, the tour heads back to Florida, with the popular Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. This main event also has a $3,500 buy-in. Last year, this event saw a record field of competitors with 2,482 players at the felt. The prize pool came in at almost $8 million!
