A record number of bets have been placed on the women’s Euros football tournament, reports betting company Entain.
A record 1.5 million online bets were taken by the company in the competition. In the UK, its subsidiaries Ladbrokes and Coral experienced a five-fold increase in the number of bets placed compared with the women’s Euros in 2017.
With the final of the tournament still to go (it was played yesterday), Entain said there had been 1.5 million bets placed online in total across of its brands and 14 percent of them had been lodged by women.
