Wales: Adult gaming centres hoping for restart in early July

Home » Wales: Adult gaming centres hoping for restart in early July

The latest on the on-going adult gaming centres saga in the United Kingdom suggests that the Welsh Government may reopen high street adult gaming centres (AGCs) in early July.

The country’s first minister, Mark Drakeford, has confirmed that non-essential retail is permitted to open from today, Monday, but it does not include AGCs or bookmakers’ shops. An update is due on July 9 and insiders suggest that Welsh tourism will get some better news on July13.

Meanwhile, in England, where AGCs were initially slated to open last Monday before a government U-turn, there is no further information despite pressure from over 100 members of parliament, lobbied by industry members.

The Scottish Government is suggesting that tourism can re-start on July 15, but there is no confirmation whether this will include adult gaming centres or FECs.
