The partnership between Mohegan Indian Tribe and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas at the Las Vegas resort is to come to an end, with Mohegan ending its casino management role.

A “transition period” was announced yesterday following which, Mohegan will “cease to manage or lease the casino.”

The property, which opened in March 2021, will continue under the management of Cliff Atkinson, president at Virgin Hotels, subject to regulatory approvals.

“We are grateful for the collaboration with Mohegan, and we will continue to work together to ensure a well-ordered transition of casino operations,” said Atkinson. “This transition is a natural progression in our journey to provide guests of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas with a seamless resort experience.”

“Mohegan’s partnership with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas was, upon inception, and is today in the very best interest of the guests and hard-working team members whose patronage and contributions to the business are deeply appreciated,” said Ray Pineault, president and CEO, Mohegan.
