A new casino resort is to be built on the site of an old casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay, reports Games Magazine Brazil.

The authorities have given the go-ahead to the on-off-on-again project by the Cipriani Group for the former Hotel Casino San Rafael site.

The project will involve the building of a 320m tower that will be the tallest in Latin America. Work will begin in mid-2023.

The project has undergone some problems with an original investor pulling out.
