A potentially damaging strike action by casino workers has been averted at the Hollywood Casino, Toledo, Ohio, and at the venue in Columbus, both part of the Penn Entertainment group.

Two unions and casino management reached a tentative agreement for a new contract at the end of last week to avoid a strike that would have shut down both casinos on Friday.

A significant wage increase is part of the deal for around 900 staff at the two casinos.
