UK gambling to get new chief

The UK is to get a new gambling chief following a reshuffle of the cabinet by Prime Minister Boris Johnson that meant major changes to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

There is a new Secretary of State in Nadine Dorries and she will choose a new minister to replace the former chief, John Whittingdale.

The move will be regretted by the gambling industry in the UK, for Whittingdale was familiar to both the casinos and street market and understood the business.

The industry is guessing that the new man in the gambling chair will be tourism minister Nigel Huddleston (pictured), who oversaw the industry prior to Whittingdale, so he is also familiar with the industry.
