Tim Tebow Tried Out with the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tight End Position

Home » Tim Tebow Tried Out with the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tight End Position

According to sources on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 the former college and NFL quarterback as well as the New York Mets’ minor league baseball player, Tim Tebow, had recently requested to try out for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ football team at the tight end position. Tebow apparently worked out with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end, but the franchise of the National Football League has yet to make a decision regarding Tim and the future of their organization.

The New York Jets

Tebow last played in the National Football League for the New York Jets in 2012 at the quarterback position. During the New York Jets’ 2012 – 2013 NFL season Tim appeared in 12 games as well as started at quarterback for the NY Jets twice that year.

The Denver Broncos

The former Heisman Trophy winner only played 3 seasons in the National Football League, and the first 2 were with the Denver Broncos. Tebow’s best NFL season came in 2011 when Tim made appearances in 14 games for the Broncos. He compiled an overall record of 7 and 4 in his 11 starts as the Denver Broncos’ quarterback throughout the 2011 – 2012 NFL season. Tim led Denver to the playoffs that year. Tebow was well known for being a dual threat in the NFL, and he just so happened to rush for 660 yards in 2011 with the Denver Broncos.

Interest from other NFL Franchises

Back in 2013 the New England Patriots gave the former Florida Gators’ quarterback a look, but unfortunately for Tebow it never amounted to anything. A similar situation arose in 2015 with the Philadelphia Eagles, but nothing materialized with the Eagles football team either. Now it seems that the Jacksonville Jaguars are giving Tim a shot at least at the tight end position, and apparently Tebow is looking for an invite to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ training camp this summer.

The New York Mets

Following Tebow’s unsuccessful run with multiple teams in the National Football League Tim attempted to play professional baseball. The multi – sport athlete has been playing baseball with the minor league affiliates of the New York Mets from 2016 to 2019. While playing the outfield in the New York Mets’ minor league baseball system Tebow made it as far as Triple – A which is good, but did not meet the expectations of Tim as he is quite the competitor. In 2020 Tebow went to the New York Mets’ spring training although he did not play during the 2020 MLB season, and Tim eventually announced his retirement from playing pro baseball in February of 2021.
