The theoretical RTP percentage is below average at 95%, the same we got in the last two Silverback Gaming releases, Aztec Luck and Mystery Stacks. It can, however, increase by 0.25% if a player decides to use the buy feature.  

Wins form whenever at least three of a kind connect, counting from the leftmost reel. Unfortunately, symbol values are not enough to entice a seadog. They start with blackjack icons, offering rewards of up to 3.75x. Pirate treasure maps, grog casks, compasses, and coffers follow, racking up better rewards of up to 10x. The wild symbols, which take the shape of bombs as cartoons depict them (💣) help cobble wins together by substituting for the regulars. They are also the premier payers on their own, paying rewards ranging from 1 to 12.5x.

Big Wheel Bonus

Perhaps to keep things simple, the developer crams all the features on the big wheel placed right above the playing area. It is triggered by landing three bonus symbols and spins to award 50x, Pick Me bonus, Trail Bonus, or free spins.

The Golden Sail- Our Verdict

Compared to what we have seen from Silverback previously, The Golden Sail is slot 2.0. It has great potential for one, not to mention the playability brought about the simplicity. There are a few areas where you feel a need for some tweaks, though. For instance, the developer should have done away with the 50x reward on the bonus wheel (when triggered with feature buy). Having to settle for 50x can be disappointing, having invested 85x in the first place. There’s also the bonus round, where you feel the developer should have done better, perhaps with a higher base multiplier. All in all, an imperfect slot, but one that shows an up-and-coming developer headed in the right direction.
