Tax break for Louisiana casinos

A major tax break has been granted to Louisiana’s casinos by the state governor, John Edwards.

He has approved a multi-million dollar range of business tax breaks that was put forward by the state authorities to help kick-start the economy.

The deal sees the corporate franchise tax suspended for one year to help the casinos and to expand the tax credits programme that was at one time cut back on.
