The Swedish gambling regulator has revealed details of betting activity in the country across 2022.
Spelinspektionen reports that 72 per cent of all Swedes have gambled for money in the past 12 months, around the same level as 2021.
The survey, carried out at the end of November in collaboration with survey company SKOP, also revealed that 38 per cent gambled in the week prior to publication, an increase of four percentage points compared with the previous survey.
Of those who gamble in Sweden, 71 per cent have played lotteries and number games, which is subsequently the most popular form of gambling in the country.
Eighty-five per cent of players play at home and Spelinspektionen adds in its report that more people than last year are aware of the self-exclusion register.
