Sun expects ‘exceptional’ earnings

In an update on its current financial prospects, major South African casino operator Sun International has forecast “exceptional” interim earnings.

The operator’s share price spiked sharply on the news.

Sun said that it had been able to reduce debt significantly in the half-year and basic earnings per share for the period is expected to be a profit of between 84 and 100 cents per share, equating to an improvement of more than 100 per cent compared with the prior period’s loss of 32 cents per share.
