The gambling regulator in Spain has revealed that GGR for Q3 2022 in the country grew, with casino and sports betting showing upturns.


The Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling said that GGR in the latest quarter was €240.83m, an increase of 18.08 per cent on Q2 and a rise of 31.29 per cent year-on-year.

That figure is distributed in €89.04m in bets, €3.68m in bingo, €127.95m in casino, €0.03m in contests and €20.14m in poker, with bets and poker the biggest markets.

The betting segment has a growth rate of 46.20 compared with Q2 2022 and increased 48.61 per cent year-on-year.

Conventional counterpart sports bets increased by 19.21 per cent and direct by 76.04 per cent compared with Q2 this year.

As for details of Spain’s casino industry, the segment showed growth of 9.22 per cent compared to Q2 2022 and an uptick of 27.55 per cent year-on-year. Slot machines (27.89 per cent) and live roulette (37.79 per cent) were key factors in the growth.
