Figures from the Gauteng Gaming Board in South Africa show that the province, that includes Johannesburg, had 9,538 gaming machines and 358 tables.
It also had 2,508 machines in route operations. Income showed that revenue from bingo, casinos and route operations had steadily declined in March 2021 compared with the previous year, due to the lockdown, but that TAB and bookmakers’ revenues had risen.
