The owner of Filipino casino complex Solaire saw a massive rise in its fortunes as the venue came out of the pandemic restrictions.
Bloomberry Resorts Corporation’s GGR rose 131 per cent year-on-year to US$235m in the quarter ending December 31, reports Inside Asian Gaming.
EBITDA rose by 277 per cent in the quarter to US$70m and net profit was $32m, up from a loss of $22m in the same quarter of the previous year.
Commented CEO Enrique Razon Jnr: “Strong demand from the domestic mass market is pushing revenues closer to pre-pandemic levels and spurring the continued improvement of EBITDA and net income.
“Absent the emergence of new Covid-19 variants that could disrupt our gains, we see scope for further recovery as regional travel starts to pick up in the coming months.”
The group’s Jeju Sun in Korea currently remains closed.
