The Gauselmann Group’s UK adult gaming centres company, Praesepe, has opened seven new Merkur Slots venues since the sector was reopened on July 4.
Three more locations should be opened by early September. The latest Merkur Slots AGC opened in Wolverhampton and completes a busy period for Praesepe, which has also undertaken launches in Lancaster, Southall (London), Hornchurch, Saltash, Bolton and Selby. The new venues raise the total number of Praesepe operated AGCs in the UK to 166, spread across 144 towns and cities.
All venues are Covid-secure, with Praesepe implementing what it is describing as an Open, Clean, Safe campaign which ensures that each of the new safety requirements are in-place and communicated to customers via social channels and the official website.
The safety measures, which are constantly reviewed in line with government regulations, include the deployment of screens, full machine cleans between customers as well as the availability of sanitising stations, face coverings and the implementation of social distancing.
Praesepe COO Mark Schertle said: “First of all it means a lot to be introducing the unique Merkur Slots brand of gaming entertainment to new locations – in the process supporting local communities with the creation of new jobs.
“We have a unique edge in that we can offer players brand new, modern venues that have been designed with social distancing in mind, all of which means that Merkur Slots customers can game with total confidence.”
