After having its new 30-year gaming compact approved by legislators in May and the Seminole Tribe of Florida has now reportedly reached agreements that are to see it market online sportsbetting services through five local parimutuel establishments.

According to a Thursday report from the Miami Herald newspaper, the revised compact gave the federally-recognized tribe permission to offer online sports wagering on an exclusive basis to punters in Florida so long as any associated computer servers are located on aboriginal lands. This revised deal approved by Governor Ron DeSantis purportedly contains a clause that also allows local parimutuel operations to market such services on behalf of the Seminole Tribe of Florida in exchange for a 40% share of any associated profits.

Quintuple alliance:

The newspaper reported that the Seminole Tribe of Florida has now inked arrangements that are to see the Palm Beach Kennel Club and Hialeah Park Casino as well as Tampa Bay Downs promote its coming sportsbetting services. This club of partners moreover purportedly runs to Tampa’s TGT Poker and Racebook in addition to the Ocala Gainesville Poker facility from Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company although the tribe has yet to announce an official start date for any of its online sports wagering operations.

Lucrative license:

Jim Allen serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the tribe’s Seminole Gaming arm and he reportedly told the Miami Herald that his operation is looking forward to signing even more such parimutuel alliances in the near future and taking advantage of the newly-granted ability to offer games such as roulette and craps at its collection of land-based casinos. Also the Chairman for the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Hard Rock International enterprise, the executive purportedly disclosed that the gaming compact should additionally see the state rake in $2.5 billion over the course of the next five years encompassing an initial $37 million payment made last month.

“Today’s announcement follows through on the tribe’s commitment to include parimutuel marketing partners in Florida sportsbetting. They are an important component for the coming launch of sportsbetting throughout the state of Florida.

Momentous move:

For his part and DeSantis reportedly issued a statement shortly after signing the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s revised gaming compact into law in which he described the deal as ‘historic’. The 43-year-old Republican is now purportedly hopeful that ‘The Sunshine State’ can become the next American jurisdiction to take advantage of the 2018 revocation of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) so as to bring much-needed funds to help bankroll a range of public projects and programs.

Reportedly read a statement from DeSantis…

“Not only will this compact bring a guaranteed $2.5 billion in revenues over the next five years, it will also bring together Florida parimutuel businesses from across the state in a creative partnership with the Seminole Tribe of Florida providing increased access to safe and transparent sportsbetting in Florida.”
