Scientific Games has won the contract to provide a new state-wide gaming system for the Iowa Lottery in the US.



There are 24,000 locations in the state selling the games. The Iowa Lottery Authority Board voted 5-0 to award SG with the contract, which will cover 10 years with the option to extend it for another five. The new contract will come into force in the summer of 2021.

The company won the contract based on highest overall score and ability to maximise funding for the lottery’s beneficiaries. Over the last eight years of the company’s current contract with the Iowa Lottery, the lottery experienced an $878m growth in total retail sales, or an average of $109m in growth per year. Scientific Games also provides instant scratch games to the Iowa Lottery.
