In Macau, the Sands China Limited subsidiary of American casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corporation has reportedly launched a new initiative that has been designed to help local professionals to better develop and utilize their management skills.

According to a Wednesday report from Inside Asian Gaming, the Hong Kong-listed operator detailed that its Sands China Integrated Talent Development Program is being run in partnership with the Macau University of Science and Technology as a way of assisting middle and senior management figures within the casino industry.

Future fundamentals:

Sands China Limited is responsible for The Venetian Macao, The Plaza Macao, Sands Macao and The Parisian Macao properties and is currently in the middle of a $1.35 billion scheme that is to involve its nearby Sands Cotai Central venue being rebranded as The Londoner Macao. The firm reportedly explained that some 50 professionals from its own ranks are set to participate in this first-of-its-kind training scheme so as to enhance its business development objectives by nurturing the local talent pool to serve as the leaders of tomorrow.

The Las Vegas Sands Corporation subordinate reportedly announced that this training is due to see participants assigned specific tasks that relate to their employer’s real-world business needs and areas of focus. It purportedly stated that these Macau scholars will subsequently be asked to present reports and action plans to senior management figures featuring suggestions that could be implemented within a twelve-month time frame.

Wen Hongyan, Human Resources Senior Vice-President for Sands China Limited, reportedly told Inside Asian Gaming that the goal of the Sands China Integrated Talent Development Program is ‘to help middle and senior management further develop their leadership and management skills’ as well as their ‘strategic insights, entrepreneurial spirit and capacity for innovation’.
