The country’s minister for sport, tourism and heritage, Nigel Huddlestone, and the CEO of the Gambling Commission, Neil McArthur, this week confirmed their support for the programme that has over 210 supporting organisations, including BeGambleAware.

The week will see safer gambling messages posted up in venues and online with staff, customers and the broader public the target. The Safer Gambling Week will go ahead despite the introduction of fresh restrictions being introduced throughout the UK for Covid-19 going on at the same time, but there will be increased digital communications and social media.

Huddlestone said: “Gambling operators have a responsibility to keep customers safe from harm. I am pleased that the industry is coming together to recognise the importance of clear and consistent safer gambling messaging and to help those who need it find support.”
