A huge, 123.64 per cent year-on-year increase in net profits has been reported by Genting Singapore, following, it says, the recovery of regional travel.
The third quarter for the operator of casinos and Resorts World Sentosa saw a net profit after tax of S$135.8m (€97.3m). Revenue was up 49 per cent. Revenue in the gaming sector rose 96 per cent in the quarter to S$381.97m (€273.7m).
Nevertheless, the company said that the recovery was not yet at pre-pandemic levels. In a statement, Genting said that labour shortages and increasing costs presented “significant challenges.”
