In the American state of Indiana and casino operator Churchill Downs Incorporated has reportedly announced that it will be holding an official ground-breaking ceremony for its coming Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort on the morning of June 21.

According to a Friday report from the Tribune-Star newspaper, the Louisville-headquartered firm revealed that the ritual is to take place at the 50-acre site for the coming facility on the city’s east side from eleven o’clock in the morning in hopes of having the full $260 million Terre Haute property up and running by the conclusion of next year.

Churchill Downs Incorporated reportedly came top of a crowded field in November to secure a new casino license for Vigo County and had initially unveiled plans that were to have seen its Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort sit on a 20.9-acre downtown site near the Haute City Center Mall. However, the Kentucky-based firm purportedly altered the intended location for the ten-story venue in March to a more rural eastern site situated closer to Terre Haute Regional Airport.

Ryan Jordan serves as the Real Estate Development Senior Vice-President for Churchill Downs Incorporated and he reportedly disclosed that building the Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort is expected to create approximately 1,000 construction jobs. The experienced executive also purportedly explained that the finished facility will a carry a $20.6 million annual payroll spread across 350 full-time positions and 146 part-time roles while featuring a casino with at least 1,000 slots and 50 gaming tables.

Churchill Downs Incorporated reportedly divulged that the completed Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort is to furthermore come complete with restaurants and bars, a sportsbook, a rooftop bar and a 125-room hotel. The official purportedly moreover predicted that the occasion will ‘be a great day’ that is sure to attract ‘people from all over western Indiana.’
