The Dutch Parliament Lower House has adopted several motions likely to mean additional gambling advertising restrictions, reports the Gaming in Holland Newsletter.
One of the motion calls on the Dutch government to introduce a ban on untargeted or indiscriminate gambling advertising. Although the word “indiscriminate” is not defined, it is thought it would include all broadcast and most online gambling advertising that could extend to billboards and shirt sponsorships.
The newsletter suggests that future permitting gambling advertisng would require some kind of opt-in action by the viewer, but the proposed ban would not apply to lottery advertising.
