In the United States and the PointsBet USA subsidiary of online sportsbook operator PointsBet Holdings Proprietary Limited has announced the signing of a deal that is to see it serve as an authorized gaming operator for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The New York-headquartered enterprise used an official Friday press release to declare that the alliance represents its first with a female professional sports league and adds to an ‘impressive list of partners’ in the United States that already included the globally-respected National Basketball Association (NBA).

Courageous charge:

Johnny Aitken serves as the Chief Executive Officer for PointsBet USA and he used the press release to pronounce that the partnership is to involve his firm’s mobile-friendly service being integrated onto digital platforms operated by the WNBA and consequently receiving a large volume of ‘sponsorship and brand visibility opportunities’. He described the new relationship as ‘another bold move’ for the sports league as it looks ‘to grow in the sportsbetting landscape’ by connecting with top-tier operators committed to supporting ‘the best women’s basketball in the world’ and helping the game to grow vie ‘their wide audience reach.’

Aitken proclaimed that PointsBet USA is able to ‘innovate our product and personalize our offerings according to fan interest and needs’ due to the fact that it owns and operates its technology ‘from end to end’. He moreover asserted that his firm is ‘viewed as an industry leader for responsible gaming efforts and awareness’ and will now be partnering with the WNBA to formulate ‘best-in-class practices’ that will be designed to ‘protect the integrity’ of female professional basketball games.

Female empowerment:

Established 25 years ago and now featuring twelve teams including the Connecticut Sun, Las Vegas Aces and defending-champion Seattle Storm, the WNBA describes itself as ‘a bold and progressive basketball league that stands for the power of women’. The organization’s Commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, used the press release to state that she is ‘excited’ to have partnered with PointsBet USA in order to be able ‘to continue expanding in the sportsbetting space.’
