The online and land-based casino and sportsbetting industries in Pennsylvania had a spectacular November after recording an over 13% increase year-on-year in aggregated gross gaming revenues to $292.09 million and enriching the public coffers to the tune of some $119.24 million.

According to official figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Tuesday, combined takings from slots inside the eastern state’s twelve land-based casinos improved by 3.4% year-on-year last month to $189.33 million while gaming table revenues rose by 4.8% to hit almost $74.74 million.

The regulator’s data showed that it was an even better story for Pennsylvania’s family of five licensed online casinos as aggregated November revenues skyrocketed by 95% month-on-month to surpass $9.65 million. This was led by the service from Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which chalked up total takings of $3.17 million, and closely followed by the nearly $2.99 million tally recorded by the domain run by Mount Airy Casino Resort.

The figures from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board also revealed that the online casino from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course had brought in November revenues of just over $1.86 million while the rival services from Parx Casino and Mohegan Sun Pocono had recorded takings of approximately $1.49 million and $131,416 respectively.

Sportsbook success:

November moreover represented the first-year anniversary of legalized sportsbetting in Pennsylvania with this vertical marking its inaugural birthday by chalking up combined retail and online handle of slightly over $316.46 million. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board information showed that this tally had represented a 31% swell when compared with October’s $241.18 million figure although the sector’s taxable revenue figure dropped by 1.5% month-on-month to around $14.72 million.
