The World Series of Poker Winter Online Circuit is in full swing, offering players premium online poker action. The Main Event of the series just finished up, with 6,395 total entries. The event had a buy-in of $1,700 and featured reentries, with 974 completed. The number of entries helped the event reach its $10 million guaranteed prize pool, actually going over more than $320,000!

The top 700 players earned a piece of the prize pool, with first-place taking home well over $1.2 million! It was Paulius Plausinaitis and online player ‘turkey1’ going head-to-head for the win, with Paulius eventually earning the title. He claimed his very first WSOP Circuit ring with the win along with the huge prize!

Heads-Up Play

When the heads-up round began, Paulius would hold the chip lead by five to one. However, ‘turkey1’ doubled up not once, but twice, which helped him gain a lead. However, Paulius would not be outdone so he came back, and there was no stopping him after that.

New Tournament Variant

The WOSPC follows the launch of a new tournament variant at GGPoker. The brand launched Flip & Go in mid-January, providing players with an exciting way to compete in tournaments.  In this game, there is a flipout phase that takes place before the regular event.

Each player is dealt three hole cards. One of these cards must be discarded before the hand is completed. If you are dealt a certain three-card hand, then you will earn bonus chips. Such hands include a straight or a flush. The added element makes the poker tournament much more interesting than the traditional SNG style tournament.
