South Korean casino operator Paradise Company Limited has reportedly announced that the gambling hall and hotel within its giant Paradise City development are set to re-open after being temporarily closed last week due to an outbreak of coronavirus.

According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the Seoul-listed firm shuttered the 711-room venue located near the city of Incheon for a three-day period from last Tuesday after one of its employees tested positive for the potentially deadly ailment. The source detailed that this closure was subsequently extended by a further six days after five more workers at the 10.6-acre integrated casino resort came down with coronavirus.

The re-opening revelation comes just two days after Paradise Company Limited pronounced that its largest property in South Korea was to stay closed ‘indefinitely’ so as to give it sufficient time to conduct a range of disinfection exercises. The operator purportedly moreover declared that it was working in ‘close consultation with the quarantine authorities’ and was to carry out an expanded inspection of the facility it runs in cooperation with Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings Incorporated.

However, Paradise City reportedly posted a notice on its website earlier today that proclaimed the imminent re-opening of its 167,154 sq ft foreigner-only casino featuring over 250 slots alongside approximately 150 gaming tables. The facility purportedly explained that its hotel and outdoor swimming pool will also be reviving operations although its cinema, gym and indoor swimming pool are to remain shuttered.
