Filipino casino giant PAGCOR has donated PHP256.38m (€4.3m) to the Philippine Sports Commission to support athletes preparing for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.

The funds from PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp) are the mandated contributions for November and December of last year.

PAGCOR CEO Alejandro Tengco (left in picture) presented the cheques to the newly appointed PSC chairman Richard Bachmann in Manila this week.

Said Tengco: “With the amount that we remitted, we hope to contribute significantly to the training of our national athletes for various international competitions and to the further development of Philippine sports. Our future remittances will be bigger as our operations are slowly easing back to normalcy.”

PAGCOR is the government-owned and controlled company with its own casinos and slot clubs. It also oversees and regulates privately-owned casinos and more than 180 bingo parlours.
