Gaming companies all over the world, whether involved in the amusement industry or in gambling, have been open-handed in their assistance to their local communities faced with the pandemic.

The latest is Ortiz Gaming Asia, the Far Eastern division of the well-known Spanish company that supplies video bingo slots to the international market.

In the Philippines, the PAGCOR regulator has been leading the efforts to assist in the response. Last week Ortiz distributed 1.2 tons of food, using government guidelines, and in co-operation with PAGCOR.

Said vice president of global sales, Roberto Regianini: “With everyone up against the challenges brought about by COVID-19, Ortiz Gaming, guided by its core values, joined the struggle, battling to support our national community and ease the impact of the pandemic on Filipino households.”

He added: “We hope that this donation will bring some measure of relief to Filipino families in need and while it is still uncertain that the greatest risk is yet behind us, we remain inspired by the humanity and willpower coming from every sector. The Ortiz Gaming family is grateful to the front-liners, doctors, nurses, health workers and public servants who have shown such spirit in these difficult times.”

Ortiz was helped in its relief work by Jimmy Bondoc and Allan Sayson of PAGCOR, reported Fabio Moretti, head of operations for Ortiz in Asia. The company, that specialises in Class II and Class III video bingo slot machines, has been active in the Philippines since 2013.
