In upstate New York and the Oneida Indian Nation has reportedly announced a scheme that is to see its Yellow Brick Road Casino expanded in order to host a range of new amenities including a six-lane indoor bowling alley.

According to Wednesday reports from the local Observer-Dispatch and The Post-Standard newspapers, the refurbishment project is a continuation of an almost $10 million plan that recently saw the Chittenango-based venue create some 125 new jobs by premiering a sportsbook in partnership with Scientific Games Corporation.

The Oneida Indian Nation is also responsible for New York’s Point Place Casino and Turning Stone Resort Casino and reportedly detailed that it hopes to have completed the expansion of its Yellow Brick Road Casino by the beginning of February. Alongside bowling, the federally-recognized tribe purportedly explained that the Madison County facility is moreover soon set to feature new restaurants and a bar to complement its recently-opened sportsbook alongside an indoor golf range and an area offering a collection of lounge games such as shuffleboard and pool.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, the Observer-Dispatch reported that the Oneida Indian Nation stated that its plan is to furthermore see the Yellow Brick Road Casino update its exterior façade to reflect ‘the aesthetics of central New York’s industrial history with a modern 21st Century look’.

Area allegiance:

Ray Halbritter, Chief Executive Officer for the Oneida Indian Nation’s casino-operating Oneida Nation Enterprises arm reportedly told the Observer-Dispatch that the renovations are due involve the Yellow Brick Road Casino being ‘completely transformed into a multi-entertainment venue unlike anything else in the area’ and could lead to the creation of up to 20 additional jobs.

Halbritter reportedly told the newspaper…

“This new phase of renovations at Yellow Brick Road Casino is geared to exceed guest expectations and is a reflection of the Oneida Indian Nation’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting in central New York. By expanding our offerings, we will be creating new jobs and helping to revitalize the region as a premier tourist destination.”

Productive properties:

For its part, The Post-Standard reported that the Oneida Indian Nation recently expanded the gaming floor inside its Point Place Casino and upgraded some of the hotel rooms at its flagship Turning Stone Resort Casino. It cited the tribe’s Communications Vice-President, Joel Barkin, as pronouncing that the Yellow Brick Road Casino and its pair of compatriots recently had their ‘most successful’ year and contributed approximately $70 million to the state in gaming taxes.

Barkin reportedly told The Post-Standard…

“We’ve made significant investments in Turning Stone Resort Casino and Point Place Casino and Yellow Brick Road Casino definitely needed some attention to keep up and remain a destination.”
