Lithuanian casino operator Olympic has been fined €25,000 by the country’s Gambling Supervisory Authority.

The penalty was levied against UAB Olympic Casino Group Baltija for breaking advertising regulations, having been found with information on its website about how players could watch live sports through the Setanta Sports service and encouraging them to gamble.

The advertising was judged to be contrary to the regulations in Lithuania because the information was not free and was used to draw attention to a casino product, inducing gambling.

It is the third time this year that Olympia has been fined. Olympic has the right to appeal.
