Australian casino operator The Star Entertainment Group, is studying the 19 recommendations made by the Bergin Inquiry into practices at Australian casinos.
The company said that new amending legislation is now with the New South Wales Parliament, as from yesterday, to bring about regulatory change. The Casino Legislation Amendment Bill 2022, that seeks to reform the casino regulatory framework in the state, has been passed.
The Star is currently considering the final version of the bill, including amendments made to the original version tables and the potential implications for its Sydney operations.
The company announced earlier in the week that it was engaging an independent monitor to oversee its reform programme.
