Newgioco Group says it has started reopening sports betting shops in Italy, with COO Alessandro Marcelli calling the move an “important economic commitment” to share responsibilities towards reopening the economy.
Newgioco has 150 physical locations throughout Italy. The Italian government moved to eased restrictions on businesses deemed non-essential this week as the country emerges from the worst of the coronavirus pandemic.
New York-based Newgioco said it is outfitting its Italian locations with personal protective equipment aid packages in the form of utility stands containing hand sanitiser, face masks and gloves for employees and customers. The firm is offering the utility stands to its store owners free of charge.
