New Circa Resort & Casino to open in downtown Las Vegas this fall

Home » New Circa Resort & Casino to open in downtown Las Vegas this fall

Earlier this week, Las Vegas casino developer, Derek Stevens, announced an opening date for the Circa Resort and Casino. The new venue will be open on October 28, with the basement level and first five floors in operation. Other aspects of the property will open at a later date and once fully completed; the casino resort will be home to a total of 777 guest rooms.

Details of the Opening:

In the beginning, the Circa Resort and Casino was set to open in December. That remains the plan for the hotel tower, which will start on the 8th floor. The first five floors will open in October, featuring a two-story casino that will house just over 1,300 slot machines and 49 table games. The open area will also include a sportsbook, bars, restaurants, and pool amphitheater.

To be able to speed up the opening of the first five floors, Stevens decided to divert construction resources from the hotel to this area. As the coronavirus became an issue in Nevada, a restriction was placed on the number of people who could be in a man lift. This limited the number of workers who could focus on the upper floors of the hotel portion of the property.

In speaking with USA Today Network, Stevens commented: “We took the hand that was dealt us and tried to work as efficient as possible.”

The Circa is the first new casino to be built downtown in many years, constructed on the site that was formerly home to the Las Vegas Club.

What to Expect:

Visitors to the property in October should expect to see plenty of dining options as well as the multi-tiered pool amphitheater. The area is temperature-controlled and guests can lounge in the pool or on chairs as they watch entertainment on the 134-by-41 foot video screen. This area expects to serve 4,000 guests daily with 30 cabanas, 38 day beds and 337 chaise lounges, along with the pools.

Several restaurants will be located onsite for dining including Saginaw’s Delicatessen, Victory Burger and Wings along with Project BBQ.

The casino resort has been in the making for quite some time, as Stevens first introduced the project in January 2019. After a few delays, the property appears to be opening in just a few months, providing guests of Las Vegas with even more great entertainment.
