The Mid-States Poker Tour Poker Bowl (MSPT) has ended at the Venetian and surprise, surprise, it concluded with a player deal. The past five times the tournament has taken place, it has ended after players came to a deal agreement. This time, the top four decided to chop the pot after playing for 15 hours. In the end, it was Johnny Oshana who earned the first-place finish.

Chopping the Pot

When the deal was done, Oshana would pocket $130,000 while Jordan Cristos would take home $119,232. Seungmook Jung and Joris Springael would earn $85,000 each. The four players were the final ones standing out of 908 total entries. Only 116 players were able to make it to the final day of the competition.

The four players would compete for about an hour and then after the final break, it was suggested that the deal be considered. It would take some time though for the negotiations to be finalized. The tournament staff members brought out the chip chop numbers, and Jung was not happy. He said that he would cut a deal for no less than $85,000.

In the end, Cristos was agreeable to shave some money from his earnings and ensure that Jung and Springael received the same amount. Oshana was happy to have cut a deal due to the chip stacks remaining. Only around 70 blinds remained split between the four players so it could have been anyone’s win if the poker game played out.
