Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has officially unveiled the logo for the new casino it will be operating inside the coming Virgin Hotels Las Vegas venue while additionally revealing the identities of two of the Nevada enterprise’s senior executives.

The casino-operating arm of the federally-recognized Mohegan Tribe used an official Wednesday press release to detail that its latest enterprise will be christened the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and is scheduled to premiere by the end of the year complete with a 60,000 sq ft gaming floor alongside a selection of world-class lounges, bars and restaurants.

Ownership overhaul:

Opened in 1990 as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, the 16.7-acre property was sold to the hotel division of Virgin Group Limited in 2018 before being shuttered five months ago so as to undergo a $200 million renovation. The Nevada venue is now soon set to be re-opened as the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas offering a casino from Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment as well as some 130,000 sq ft of re-modeled convention, meeting and events space.

To lead its inaugural Nevada effort and Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment announced that it has appointed experienced industry professional Joe Hasson to serve as General Manager for the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It proclaimed that the former Red Rock Resorts Incorporated senior executive is set to ‘oversee the strategic direction of business operations and financial performance’ of the property while moreover ensuring its operational and regulatory integrity and formulating strategies to improve guest experiences, efficiencies and results.

The tribal casino operator furthermore declared that it has named Tyler Conover to the post of Marketing Director for the soon-to-open Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas where he will be in charge of all advertising, marketing and promotional duties.
