There was mixed news yesterday for ICE London, with Novomatic announcing its withdrawal from the show due to the proximity of its new dates to Easter, yet the iGB Affiliate sector is already up 28 per cent on 2020.

Novomatic blamed also the ongoing “challenging” situation created by the pandemic across Europe. “We have not taken this decision lightly,” said the company, adding that it was made “following the recent weeks’ uncertainties and after detailed analysis and risk assessment.”

It admits that for Clarion Gaming, the new dates for the show were unavoidable. “ICE is a key trade show for the entire gaming industry and Novomatic hopes that the successful co-operation can be continued under more favourable conditions in 2023.”

At the same time, however, news came through of other sectors within the show hitting new heights. The iGB Affiliate London, part of the overall event at ExCeL is 28 per cent larger than in 2020, reports Clarion.

It now has 159 exhibitors and sponsors from 29 countries and is taking up 6,265sq.m of floor space – three halls of the venue.

Clarion’s Naomi Barton, portfolio director responsible for the iGB Affiliate brand, said: “These figures come 11 weeks ahead of the launch and we are continuing to market the opportunities of being part of the industry’s premier event.

“There is a confidence within the igaming affiliate sector and the optimism, energy and desire to come together and network represents an extension of what we experienced with the brand last September in Amsterdam.”
