A US$1m crisis and disaster relief pledge to an employee emergency grant fund has been announced by MGM Resorts International.
The company is also donating the equivalent of 400,000 meals across the US during the pandemic. “As we confront the extraordinary events, we know that this is an extremely challenging and uncertain time for many of our employees, their families, friends and neighbours and we are committed to help those in need,” said acting CEO and president Bill Hornbuckle.
He said that the free meals had been distributed through local food banks. In November MGM launched its Focused on What Matters programme to make positive impacts in communities. The goal is to include the donation of five million meals and passing one million volunteer hours by 2025.
