 Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes is a Panamanian attorney with a Master’s in Commercial Law and Specialization in Public Law. Before joining GLI, she practiced Law in one of the most prestigious law firms in Panama and was later appointed as Legal Director of the Panama Gaming Control Board.

She has been with GLI since 2004, developing new gaming jurisdictions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean while driving GLI’s strategy for both regulatory and business development as well as managing GLI´s service delivery to the region’s operators and suppliers.  With her law degree and gaming regulatory experience, one of Sierra-Hughes’s main goals is to help the regions’ government agencies in their efforts to improve the regulatory landscape providing valuable advice that will lead to developed laws, decrees and regulations.  She is also responsible for all GLI licensing processes throughout the region as well as the GLI brand.
