Macau’s gross gaming revenue amounted to MOP18.5bn ($2.29bn) in April, reflecting a 4.9 per cent decrease from March’s MOP19.5bn ($2.42bn).

According to data released by the local regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), the April tally marked a 26 per cent increase from the previous year.

The result also represents a 21.4 per cent decrease from the MOP23.6bn ($2.91bn) reported in April 2019, before the pandemic.

For the first four months of 2024, Macau’s casino GGR reached MOP75.87bn ($9.36bn), up 53.7 per cent from last year, but still 23.9 per cent lower than the same period in 2019, which was MOP99.74bn ($12.30bn).
