Sands China’s development The Londoner Macao will open in September.

The US$2bn project’s first phase of the redevelopment of the Sands Cotai Central is now ahead of schedule, said Sands China’s president Wilfred Wong.

Speaking at the opening of the Sands China Shopping Carnival, Wong said that work had continued throughout the lockdown period created by Covid-19. The absence of tourists had actually helped to speed up the construction.

The Londoner will open in successive phases throughout this year and next year and will include a replica of Big Ben. There will be a sports arena, retail, a virtual reality experience, restaurants and pubs plus a theatre. It is planned to include 450 table games and 2,000 slots in the casino and the hotels will have 6,000 rooms.
