Home » Macau shrugs off junket problem

Despite speculation over the future of its junket industry – and the corruption charges against one of its leading junket organisers – Macau saw a sharp increase in GGR at the beginning of this month.

Revenue was up 14 per cent in the first five days of the month, compared with the last week in November.

Reporting the situation, broker Bernstein in its weekly GGR update, said that daily GGR from 1-5 December was US$32.4m, and the daily GGR was up 20 per cent from the daily average in November.
