The first steps towards recovery in Macau may be taken as early as May, according to analysts and reflected in Fantini’s Gaming Report.

Travel restrictions may be eased by then or shortly after as a result of no more new Covid-19 cases reported there since April 7.

The experts believe that the April gaming revenues in Macau will be down between 91 and 93 per cent and third quarter revenues reduced by 65 per cent, with the fourth quarter down by 60 per cent.

During the Easter weekend only about 1,000 people visited Macau compared with over half a million last year.
