GGR at Macau rose sharply in August with the easing of local pandemic restrictions and the dropping of hotel quarantine measures for those entering the territory, reports Inside Asian Gaming.

Revenues reached US$271m in the month, way up on the $49m recorded in July, but still below the benchmark figure of $3bn recorded in August of 2019 before Covid hit. It was also 50.7 per cent below the figure for August of last year.

The first eight months of this year have seen revenues falling 53.4 per cent compared with the first eight months of last year and 85.4 per cent lower than the eight months of 2019.
