Casinos in the Covid-impacted territory of Macau are still struggling, according to the latest GGR report for October that was down 10.7 per cent on 2021.
The territory’s Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau said that the revenue was $481.6m in October, but with the border with mainland China reopening today following another pandemic close, there are hopes for considerable improvement.
The facility for e-visas and package tours from the mainland are expected to boost the figures for November, however this has been complicated by an outbreak of Covid in Macau itself last week.
