Macau’s casinos have been closed down for a week in a bid to combat another outbreak of Covid.
The Chinese territory’s government ordered the closure of all commercial and industrial businesses, including casinos, for a week from Saturday with the exception of some “essential services.”
A press conference held on Saturday confirmed that the businesses will close from today, Monday, through to the beginning of next Monday.
At least two of the casinos have been drafted in to act as quarantine hotels – the Grand Lisboa (pictured) and the Grand Hyatt.
