Italian gaming operator Lottomatica is to acquire online sportsbook and casino operator Betflag, it was announced just before the weekend.
Betflag is a significant Italian operator and it is being bought by Lottomatica subsidiary GBO . The deal will cost just over €300m.
It is the first important move in the market to strengthen its portfolio, since Lottomatica was sold by IGT to Gamenet Group for $950m. Betflag’s last EBITDA figure (to the end of September) was €36m.
