The legalising of sports betting in Liberia is on the cards if opposition politician Yekeh Kolubah gets his way – he intends to introduce a bill to legalise it.

Kolubah has gone on record as saying his bill will regulate gambling in Liberia by legalising every aspect of the market, despite the views of the governing party led by George Weah.

Local media reports that the football-crazy population of Liberia is already heavily into sports gambling and as a result, several sports betting companies are already set up in the country.
