Some five weeks after having its plan for the under-construction Legends Bay Casino venue approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission and casino operator Olympia Gaming has reportedly detailed that the new venue is set to open from August 30.

According to a Wednesday report from the Reno Gazette-Journal newspaper, the casino coming to the Outlets at Legends shopping mall in the northern Nevada city of Sparks is to be the area’s first new gambling-friendly venue in over two decades. The premiere is to purportedly be followed by a special September 2 fireworks display to cap a 15-year journey that began when Olympia Gaming purchased an almost two-acre plot of land adjacent to the 45-unit retail unit.

Las Vegas-headquartered Olympia Gaming is an entity of local property developer Garry Goett’s The Olympia Companies concern and reportedly already runs the Casino Fandango property in the nearby community of Carson City. The enterprise purportedly explained that its 80,000 sq ft Legends Bay Casino venue will also sit alongside the 100-room Hampton Inn and Suites and Residence Inn by Marriott hotels and feature a casino offering an array of 650 slot and video poker machines as well as gaming tables with roulette, craps, keno and multiple versions of poker.
